The Spherical King and Priest
As believers in Christ Jesus we have the incredible opportunity to bring order to chaos as His kings and priests. What is our Kingdom? It is a spherical one. Imagine a very large hamster ball that He places us in, and where ever we go, we can influence the environment through our sphere of influence. The spherical walls inadvertently bumping into folks by His design, not ours.
A royal priesthood is first mentioned in Exodus 19:5-7, 5 Now then, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My [a]own possession among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine; 6 and you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words that you shall speak to the sons of Israel.”
7 So Moses came and called the elders of the people, and set before them all these words which the Lord had commanded him. New American Standard Bible (NASB)
To be a kingdom of priests was God's design for the children of Israel. Read in 1 Peter 2:9, 9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; New American Standard Bible (NASB) It is the same for believers in Christ Jesus. Again in Revelation 1:4-6
4 John to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace, from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, 5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood— 6 and He has made us to be a kingdom, priests to His God and Father—to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. New American Standard Bible (NASB)
There is a real time, real people, even a real kingdom responsibility component to this position of authority He has given us. We are a much bigger deal to Jesus than we think we are. We are more like Jesus than we think we are. Our spherical kingdom of Kingdom influence permeates all those around us. Think about everything you say, do, even touch having a Kingdom impact on the people in your sphere of influence. Bringing kingly Kingdom order to the worlds areas of chaos around us, and then ministering to people we bump into as priests. Not are we also made in the image of Christ, but we have the same responsibility as He does... only doing what we see the Father doing, and speaking only what we hear the Father saying. Being a king submitted to the King of kings is a great responsibility, one of humility, servitude and friendship to the Creator of the universe.
Hey king and priest, your loved, prayed for, paid for, and have extravagant favor...
